How it Works

The R2 System targets highly variable internal transcribed spacer (ITS) regions between conserved bacterial genes using a proprietary set of universal primers.

Each pathogen generates a unique fingerprint, which is analyzed by our machine learning algorithm to deliver species-level identification—without requiring prior pathogen knowledge or culture enrichment. From whole blood or other clinical samples, the system extracts DNA, performs PCR, and analyzes the result—all within a streamlined workflow optimized for clinical labs.
